The Spring 2007 Traditional Building Design Challenge took place during the Traditional Building Exhibition and Conference in Boston, March 8-10, 2007 at the Hynes Convention Center.
Project Description
The 2007 Traditional Building Design Challenge focused on the diverse landscape and vernacular architecture of Cape Cod, MA.
Defined by its natural environment, coastal villages and historic character, it is a place with distinctive architecture, combining traditional forms and materials in a variety of styles.
Cape Cod, MA is home to the largest historic district in the nation - Old Kings Highway Historic District. This district is designated as the area north of Route 6 (the Mid Cape Highway) encompassing 6 towns: Sandwich, Barnstable, Yarmouth, Dennis, Brewster and parts of Orleans, each with their own unique traditions, characteristics and styles.
