PHILADELPHIA, APRIL 27-30, ANNOUNCES ALL NEW WASHINGTON, DC, JANUARY 13, 2005---What’s new for 2005 at the Traditional Building Show? Industry professionals searching for the latest information on products, techniques, and issues in the traditional building and design market can choose from a variety of programs and special events at the Traditional Building Exhibition and Conference, April 27-30, 2005, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in historic Philadelphia. Celebrate with us! Fife & Drums, Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross, and opening remarks from a surprise guest will set the stage for the ribbon cutting ceremony during the grand opening of the 2005 Traditional Building Exhibit Hall. Later that evening, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and keynote speaker, Tom Hylton, will describes the commitment to re-shaping our attitude about the way we live on the land and the public policy that reflects that attitude. The author of Save Our Land, Save Our Towns, was instrumental in the eventual passage of Pennsylvania’s first-ever anti-sprawl legislation and has been the springboard for countless other projects nationwide Reviving Traditional Communities: Products, Practice, Profits, is the theme for this year’s event. Participants may select from 80 educational seminars and workshops over four days in 9 new thematic tracks, including: Preservation Basics, Residential Restoration and Renovation, Traditionally Inspired New Construction, Traditional Trades, History and Design, Preserving the Recent Past, Neighborhood Revitalization, Commercial and Public Projects, and Preservation in Practice. Visit more than 200 suppliers of specialty, hard-to-find products and services on the exhibit show floor. Or, experience Traditional Building Live!, an interactive demonstration area for modern master craftsmen and watch them construct the Traditional Building Playhouse. Enjoy entertainment, spirits, and hors d’oeuvres with your colleagues overlooking the Reading Terminal in the PA Convention Center during the Traditional Building Gala Reception. And, come along as we taste and tour the historic pubs and taverns of Philadelphia to benefit the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia in the first-ever Traditional Building Historic Pub Crawl. satisfy continuing
education requirements through attendance. Architects can earn up to 22 continuing
education credits, most of which meet the Health, Safety, and Welfare criteria.

Interior Design Continuing Education Council, and Association of Higher Education
