In a luncheon ceremony on the first day of the conference, The Clem Labine Award for humanitarian service to the traditional building industry was awarded to Lisa Sasser, AIA, for her work training the traditional trades. In addition, Ms. Sasser has helped save countless historic buildings and America’s cultural heritage during her tenure at the U.S. National Park Service.
The Raphael Awards were also presented, to nine winners this year, in celebration of and encouragement for architectural hand-drawing and watercolor rendering.https://www.traditionalbuilding.com/traditional-building-announces-2025-raphael-award-winners
In 2026, the Traditional Building Conference Series moves on to Salem, Massachusetts, March 24-25, Cape May, N.J. June 16-17, and a fall location at a soon-to-be announced location. Traditional Building Conferences will continue to focus on materials and traditional methods, and in recognition of America 250, additional topics which celebrate our nation’s architectural heritage, from Colonial to Mid Century Modern and everything in between.
The Traditional Building Conference delivers relevant educational content to professionals who work in historic restoration/renovation, traditional building, urban planning and the traditional trades for residential, institutional, commercial and ecclesiastical building types.
